Holder Construction Company - Atlanta , Georgia

1977 - 1985

Mr. Parker joined Holder Construction Company upon graduation from Auburn University .  His first assignment was a field position as Project Engineer for a two-year period on two medical office buildings in Miami , Florida . He then transferred to Houston , Texas for one year to complete an office building and other projects in that area. Upon his return to Atlanta , he was promoted to the position of Vice President and held the position of Project Executive on numerous projects for clients such as IBM, Delta Air Lines, Inc., Life Insurance Company of Georgia, Saks Fifth Avenue , Cox Communications and MDSI. Mr. Parker’s responsibilities included office and project administration, client development, director of design/build projects, value engineering, cost control and evaluation, estimating and purchasing. Mr. Parker served on the committee, which provided end-user information to IBM for the development of its first automated scheduling and estimating system.

McDevitt & Street Company, Atlanta Division - Atlanta , Georgia

1985 - 1990

Mr. Parker joined the Atlanta Division of McDevitt & Street Company in 1985 as Vice President. He was responsible for all preconstruction services necessary to support a $100 million operating division of the fifth largest building contractor in the United States . After two years, Mr. Parker was promoted to the position of Group Vice President and was responsible for all activities associated with the operation of a $50 million Division of McDevitt & Street Company. The principal focus for his division was design/build and healthcare construction. His administrative duties included long range strategic planning and development of Business Plans for his division and the operating company.  Mr. Parker gained extensive experience in the systems and procedures necessary to successfully operate a company of any scale.

CM Associates - Atlanta , Georgia

1990 - Present

Mr. Parker left McDevitt & Street Company in late 1989 to found The Parker Company, later to become CM Associates. The focus of his practice was owner representation and Construction Management. In 1993 Mr. Parker and Mr. Hugh Landrum combined their businesses. Since the inception of his company in 1989, Mr. Parker has personally managed the development of projects valued in excess of $350 million. The basis of his practice today is project development, business planning, forensic services (surety) and owner representation.  Over his 29-year career, Mr. Parker has been personally responsible for or been involved in the management of projects valued in excess of $500 million. Today, the firm is committed to utilizing its talents and broad experience to provide intensive, quality service to a select group of repeat clients.
