1983 - 1988

Mr. Walz joined PMG in 1983 as a project manager responsible for providing scheduling services to developers and general contractors.  In 1985 Mr. Walz began providing scheduling services for Gannett Company, Inc., who was involved in a multi-project USA Today production upgrade and expansion program.  Responsibilities as a member of the Gannett team included multi-project strategic scheduling and planning, professional and construction services procurement, design and pre-construction phase coordination, on-site construction management, project documentation and executive reporting.  Mr. Walz then developed this broader program management role for clients such as First American Bank in Nashville , Tennessee , and the Wilmington News-Journal in Wilmington , Delaware .

W. R. Adams Company, Inc. - Rome , Georgia

1988 - 1994

In 1988 Mr. Walz recognized that Program Management and Owner’s Representation would become the new niche service in the construction industry, and established this start-up program management-consulting firm as one of three original partners.  Mr. Walz served as an officer and director of the firm and was responsible for the management of more than $250 million of institutional and healthcare projects, as well as direction of personnel, account profitability, client and market development, and development of budgeting, scheduling and other project management tools.

CM Associates - Atlanta , Georgia

1994 - Present

In 1994 Mr. Walz formed Jack Walz & Associates (JWA) to provide project management and cost control products and services to Owners wishing to establish consistent project management procedures, better project accountability, and better methods of documenting and reporting projects.  To this end Mr. Walz developed a software database program, the Benchmark Project Control System, which is now licensed to Owners and others engaged in major construction programs through JWA.  In 1995 Mr. Walz joined forces with CM Associates to expand the firm’s Owner Representation and Program Management consulting practice.  Mr. Walz’s focus with CM Associates includes a comprehensive development program for multiple county health department and department of family and children’s services facilities throughout the state of Georgia, and several other institutional and not-for-profit clients.
